Radio killed the Video Star…
We have gone all like totally retro, the 45s are out and the radio is on, LOUD! We’ve discovered that radio has usurped the tellybox for top quality choons and entertainment. VIVE LA RADIO!
Here’s the current swingers who are hanging out all over the airwaves…all of the featured radio stations below can be listened to online, so are perfect for cheering up a dull day in the office…
Breakfast Shows: This has been in the past the true dearth of radio but now with the subtley sublime Christian O’Connell on Absolute Radio and the much less annoying than you’d expect Chris Evans on BBC Radio 2 we’re actually setting our digital clock radio. Disclaimer: Do not listen to the smug bugger - Chris Moyles unless you’re trying our stategy of utter mindblowing annoyance, which may actually get you out of bed if you position the radio far enough away from your head.
Resonance FM: Resonace is so good at what it does: GREAT CULTURE COVERAGE. Indenpendent, non-commercial and utterly brilliant radio which caters for every niche imaginable. Listen live here.
Absolute 80s: On internet radio and DAB we think, this radio station has changed our working life. Our favourite bit is the no ads, no talking hour of solely music. Think great forgotten 80s classics like ‘We don’t have to take our clothes off’.
Absolute Podcasts: This ace set of podcasts includes: oddball comedy king Dave Gorman, a Noah and the Whale session and more.
Radio 4 Extra: BBC has really excelled itself in digital radio production of late and Radio 4 Extra is a great example. Packed with radio drama, comedy and factual programmes including our favourite ‘The Comedy Club’, which is 6 nights a week from 10pm to Midnight. This week it features acts: ’The Flight of the Conchords, Laura Solon, Russell Kane, Mark Gatiss and many more national treasures.
